Common types of Notarization
Acknowledgement: Document signer appeared before the notary at the time of notarization and either signs the document in front of the notary or, if signed prior to presentation to the notary, acknowledges to the notary that they signed the document. Identity must be verified by the notary.
Jurat: Document signer must personally appear before the notary, swear an oath of affirmation to the notary regarding the truthfulness of the contents within the document and MUST sign the document in front of the notary. Identity must be verified by the notary.
